Cheslahud Lake Union Loop

Location: Lake Union

Seattle Parks Foundation is working with Seattle's Department of Transportation and Seattle Parks and Recreation to build a new 6-mile multi-use path around Lake Union. The new trail will be a safe, continuous, and landscaped bicycle/pedestrian route that will join existing trail segments and improve six waterways and street-ends.  The Lake Union trail will also provide an appealing route for celebrating Seattle’s rich maritime, industrial, Native American, and natural history, including interpretive signs spaced along the route.

The City of Seattle has included $1 million in its 2008 budget for the Lake Union trail and initial improvements are planned to start in spring 2008 including sections along Westlake approaching the Fremont Bridge, signage, and general striping. Public meetings will take place in 2008 to review design considerations and gather comments on the neighborhood segments along Lake Union.
