Jackson Park Trail
Location: 1100 NE 135th St.Jackson Park, the largest green space in NE Seattle (200 acres!) is almost entirely dedicated to a single purpose – golf. Friends of Jackson Park Trail and Seattle Parks Foundation have partnered to develop a four-mile perimeter trail around the park. Seattle Parks and Recreation has already identified a draft route as part of their golf master plan, and there is strong community support.
Seattle Parks Foundation identified the Jackson Park Trail in our Bands of Green Report, and presented the idea to NE Seattle neighbors in 2007. The Friends group is now actively fundraising, and working with the Parks Foundation to ensure this project moves forward.
